The Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Regulator is responsible for the delivery of a competitive CTP Insurance Scheme offering ease and confidence to the South Australian community. The CTP Regulator has oversight of monitoring and reporting of CTP Insurer activities, and is responsible for the premium setting process. These activities ensure that a fair and affordable Scheme is maintained, improving Scheme outcomes for the injured.

Job Summary
The Policy Officer reports to the Senior Policy Officer and is responsible for undertaking a range of CTP scheme based policy activities. The Policy Officer will contribute to the evaluation of policies and the identification of emerging policy issues, by assisting with the research and analysis of scheme based matters that challenge the delivery of the CTP Scheme.

To be successful in the role, you will be a motivated, highly organised individual with proven ability to write succinctly, articulating technical and political issues so that they are easily understood by various audiences. Your demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse research activities in the evaluation of policy effectiveness and performance will facilitate the policy team to deliver on its organisational objectives.

Special Conditions
This is a 12-month term position. Some out of hours work may be required. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required. The incumbent may be required to be assigned to another position at the same classification level across the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF). The incumbent will be required to participate in the CTP Regulator’s Performance Discussion Program.

An individual recommended for appointment/employment to a role with the CTP Regulator will be subject to a criminal history/record check, in accordance with the DTF Pre-Employment Screening (criminal history/record check) Policy. Disclosure of any pending charges is also mandatory. Previous criminal conviction or pending charges will not necessarily preclude employment.

ASO5 -$80,830 - $89,897 p.a.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in appropriate discipline in policy development area. Demonstrated experience in public policy development is also essential for this role.
