About the role

The Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) team are looking for a Manager Regulatory Intelligence to build NRAR’s regulatory intelligence function and enhance compliance outcomes. The Manager Regulatory Intelligence will lead a team responsible for the governance, collection and analysis of intelligence to inform NRAR’s strategic operations.

The Manager Regulatory Intelligence will be pivotal in transforming NRAR into a leading, proactive regulator that is risk-based, evidence-based and intelligence-led.

The Manager Regulatory Intelligence will develop and implement intelligence strategies, policies and processes and act as a first point of contact for analysis and intelligence needs of operational teams and the wider NRAR. The role will require strong technical understanding and knowledge of a broad range of analytical approaches and methods and ways to act on intelligence in the operational environment.

About you

To be successful in this role you will ideally have prior knowledge of water, environment or natural resources management issues and regulation. You will be a clear communicator, with proven ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and will display sound judgement and high level analytical and strategic thinking skills.

You will be an accomplished leader with the crucial skills to lead change to embed the use of intelligence in regulatory decision-making at all levels of NRAR and to create a team culture with high engagement, productivity and collaboration

The National Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) has been established to be an independent, transparent and effective regulator with total carriage of the compliance and enforcement of water management legislation in NSW.

  • to ensure effective, efficient, transparent and accountable compliance and enforcement measures for the natural resources management legislation
  • to maintain public confidence in the enforcement of the natural resources management legislation.
