About the Role

  • Oversee and complete the maintenance on a Gas Fired Power Station.
  • Operational role utilising electrical skillset.
  • Diverse, dynamic and safety focussed role in Melbourne’s North.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Operator Maintainer role will be responsible for the daily safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the AGL’s Somerton Power Station, situated in Melbourne’s North.

In safeguarding the technical, safety, environmental and commercial integrity over the asset life cycle, this role will have a key focus in meeting the required production specification in terms of plant availability.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring all Organisational Health, Safety and Environment policies and standards are adhered to
  • Demonstrating the AGL Values by acting in the best interests of AGL and working together across the business to create the best overall results and decisions
  • Performing preventative, planned, fault rectification and break down maintenance of assets
  • Preparing work records and reports as required, including input into SAP and reviewing and updating documents, drawings and procedures as required
  • Preparing, receiving, issuing and canceling authorities whilst ensuring compliance with Safe Access Rules, including isolation, restoration and operation of plant as required
  • Supervising all work parties including, employees service providers/contractors to ensure work is conducted to standard and in a safe manner
  • Fulfilling availability/on call requirements based of on call rooster
  • Overtime as required by the business
  • Supporting other trades in routine and breakdown tasks

About You

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • An A Grade Electrical Trade qualification
  • Previous experience working with gas turbine assets or the Power Generation industry would be well regarded
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and a strong and positive attitude towards a safe workplace is critical
  • A collaborative and inclusive work style to work in a diverse team
