Purpose of the Position
The Work Placement Officer will support the Coordinator in securing and booking work placements for Diploma of Nursing, Early Childhood Education, and Community Services. This involves securing placements, coordinating with students and facilities and managing all the administration tasks involved. The Work Placement Officer will also support the Coordinator in building and maintaining industry connections. The ideal candidate will be a well-presented individual with exceptional communication and organisational skills, an understanding of the Australian education and/or Health environment and a quick learner.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Contact facilities to establish relationships and negotiate placement agreements.
  • Visit facilities to build and maintain relationships.
  • Request from the course coordinators to enrol students for each placement.
  • Roster students and clinical facilitators / placement assessors to each rotation.
  • Provide the Course Coordinators with the lists of student attendance at clinical placement.
  • Report significant student issues to the Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Meet with students prior to placement to conduct file checks and brief students.
  • Ensure all placement documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Visit work placement facilities to build and maintain relationships.
  • Assist the Coordinator to create information packs and correspondence for all facilities and facilitators.
  • Ensure electronic systems are updated with placement information.
  • Keep placement facilities informed of student information.
  • Other duties as required and as negotiated.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration/business management/ health/ community services or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience working in an RTO environment or previous experience in Healthcare or Allied Health (desirable)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible work approach
  • Valid Driver's License
