Queensland Academy for Health Sciences (QAHS) offers highly capable students in Years 10 to 12 the opportunity to study the world-class International Baccalaureate Program in state-of-the-art facilities located at Southport in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

About You

As a member of a high performing non-teaching team you will be integral in assisting delivery for our teaching professionals of a unique high quality educational product and ensuring performance and accessibility of technical equipment and operations. Your ability to think creatively, identify and research solutions to problems will be crucial. You will be supported in a culture of inclusion and diversity to enable your success in this role.

Your Role

Your proven ability to communicate well with students and staff and actively contribute to a dedicated staff team will be highly valued. You will have responsibility for effective, prompt and solutions focused actions in relation to (but not limited to) the following:

PC desktops and laptop systems including Apple iPads, digital signage and various printers
Audio/visual technologies including interactive panels, projectors and PA systems
Technical knowledge of server hardware and configuration and networking peripherals
Understanding of Local Area Networks and of Wide Area Networks
Proven sound working knowledge of network security and security protocols and ability to liaise with various stakeholders including Regional and Central Support
Provision of technical advice and assistance in delivery of high quality streaming and video capabilities for our school community

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

TO2 appointees must have possession of a diploma qualification relevant to the tasks outlined, from a recognised tertiary institution or qualification which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education or delegate is acceptable.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 level following assessment by a selection panel on specific criteria as outlined in Part 4, 12.7 (c) and 12.8 (b) of the Queensland Public Service Officers and Other Employees Award - State 2015

The successful applicant will be required to attain the DoE Orange Card School Administrator (OC SA) certification to access the school network, enabling the officer to perform high level support tasks including server technologies. The content of the course contains aspects of supporting the DoE Managed Operating Environment (MOE) as well as Government legislation. This course is only available within the DoE network.

This is a TO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 (QLD Public Service Officers and Other Employees Award - State 2015) once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
