Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity
We currently have a unique opportunity for a seasoned Director Rural and Regional Contracts within Transport’s ROM (Regional and Outer Metropolitan) division, who will be entrusted with responsibility for monitoring the performance of contracts and identifying opportunities to improve and optimise service delivery and business processes. As the Director you will lead and oversee the Rural and Regional contract management team to optimise the procurement, performance and delivery of consistent, high quality customer, service and asset outcomes. As a thought leader, you will lead the implementation and management of robust service contracts to ensure they are cost effective and comply with relevant contract management policies, procedures and practices.

About You
Besides being a people person and working in conjunction with Senior Executives/leadership team, service providers and Transport Operators/counterparts, you will have an extensive exposure to contractor relationship management with a solid experience in working in a service contract environment. You will have the ability to establish, maintain and foster positive and effective working relationships with contractors. You will have an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying level-headed and calm amidst juggling multiple assignments simultaneously. You will have good judgement, can influence others and have strong ethics.
