As Vestas continues to grow its projects across Australia and New Zealand, working within our manufacturing and global procurement area, an opportunity has become available for an ambitious Senior Purchaser.

In this department we help our Service business and Production Facilities deliver projects safely, on time, in budget, with the right quality by driving supplier selection for critical indirect spend categories.

The ASP Regional Procurement Organisation (RPO) is responsible for managing ASP (India, Greater Asia, Australia & New Zealand) Vestas' spend with external suppliers. You will report to the Head of ASP Indirect & Service Procurement, the team is working cross-functionally and is responsible for managing all Procurement activities related to Service business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for managing the sourcing activities for Wind turbine maintenance, Fleet Sourcing, guest house requirement and other service related indirect sourcing- Develop suppliers for long term supply and service of these commodities
  • Develop fruitful relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders: Service Managers, Site Team, Safety experts, Global commodity managers etc.
  • Develop relationships with our key suppliers and ensure they support us in achieving our strategic objectives.
  • Identify and lead Purchasing projects in the region, on different indirect commodities (materials and services): Supporting definition of requirements / Sourcing / RFQ / Selection / Contracting.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve our Safety and Quality performance, reduce the TCO, streamline processes
  • Drive continuous improvement (work together with Business for Supplier performance improvement, periodical market analysis for cost benchmark to stay competitive etc.)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in either engineering, business studies or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in purchasing
  • Experience in strong stakeholder management and commercial skills (such as Sales, Project Management, Account Management)
  • Preferably experience in the wind industry, especially dealing with Wind Turbine Maintenance and BoP Spare Parts sourcing alternately experience from the service industry

  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Having a 'can do' approach and positive attitude towards the challenges you will face
  • Structured approach and analytical and negotiation skills
  • Positive and solution-oriented problem solver
  • Understanding about Supplier Relationship Management
  • Cross cultural skills (will work as part of an international team)
  • Team working competences within a Matrix organization
