Business Continuity and Incident Management (BCIM) controls are designed to reduce the impact and severity of any disruption associated with the loss or unavailability of people, systems, premises and third parties or any other incident where there are customer, regulatory, reputational and/or financial impact. The role of BCIM is to ensure these controls are effective through maintenance of the Business Continuity Programme, continuous monitoring of the key controls and support the effective response to incidents when they occur. Active Incident Management is a key aspect of this role which extends beyond Major Incident Management to provide coverage of the IT Incident Management space, an aspect which directly supports the CIO and IT Leadership Team in Australia.
Working with the wider global and regional BCIM teams, and the local CAO, the job holder supports the Head of BCIM to ensure risk and controls are managed to agreed standards. This support extends to the representation of businesses and functions to senior and executive management within country alongside the engagement with regulators and other relevant agencies as required.
Responsibilities :
Control Ownership
- Work in close conjunction with the appointed regional control owner and local COO to ensure the effective management of all BCIM controls owned locally
- Manage identified issues, ensuring that required mitigating activity is prioritised and actioned
- Design, develop and drive the execution of a BCM strategy across all businesses and functions within Australia.
- Provide expert assistance and support to businesses and functions as they fulfil their analysis, planning and exercise obligations
- Provide local support on both the use and the content quality required for the Business Continuity Planning Tool (Global Business Resiliency Tool (GBRT)) and Emergency Notification System (Everbridge)
- Support the planning and execution of an effective, fit-for-purpose annual business continuity programme

- Ensure the mandated Major Incident Group (MIG) controls are in place and so enable an effective country MIG capability (including the preparation and facilitation MIG member training and exercises
- Perform threat monitoring and provide timely escalation and updates to MIG Chair, regional BCIM team and stakeholders
Requirements:

- Experience of working in highly regulated and complex international organisation
- Experience in managing Incidents, training senior executives and facilitating crisis exercises
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in risk or control management an advantage
- Exposure and experience in relation to Business Continuity Management.
- An understanding of regulatory requirements related to Business Continuity and Incident Management
