Central Coast Local Health District is the largest public sector employer on the Central Coast.

We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Adviser for a temporary contract to assist the HR team based at Gosford Hospital in ensuring the effective operation of the HR function. This role will work closely within a small team based at Gosford and report through to Deputy Director HR Business Partners. This is a great opportunity to gain operational public sector HR experience and work for a Local Health District that continues to grow and expand.

This role will require working on a variety of employee relations matters and generalist HR-related work and helping support return to work programs. You will be a ‘go to’ contact for HR related systems and processes and manage projects to completion.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Generalist HR experience;

• Ability to work independently and also within a small team;

• Proven ability to deliver HR outcomes in an unionised environment;

• Strong communication and influencing skills and able to work successfully with both employees and managers at all levels;

• An understanding of NSW WHS legislation and its application;

• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and a quick learner in new business systems and processes;

• Ability to take initiative and to problem solve on a daily basis;

• Excellent organisational skills

What you'll be doing

Under the guidance of the Deputy Director, HR Business Partners, the Human Resources Advisor provides expert and timely advice on the interpretation and proper application of relevant Industrial Awards, legislation and employment policies, to ensure a consistent and legally compliant approach to employment matters across the CCLHD and c ontributes to the achievement of Workforce Directorate goals.
