Primary objective

Provide centralised procurement advisory and support services to client agencies in accordance with Agency Procurement

Services’ Service Statement, the Northern Territory Government (NTG) Procurement Framework and Buy Local Policy.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide advice and assistance to client agencies to enable informed decisions to be made based on sound

procurement principles while ensuring compliance with the NTG Procurement Framework.

2. Provide operational support, guidance and advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of the procurement function to

encourage innovative practices, to achieve delivery of business outcomes and support NTG policy direction.

3. Prepare Request for Tender documents incorporating technical specifications provided by client agencies, resolve

enquiries from prospective tenderers, and prepare tender specific evaluation reports to assist client agencies to

undertake tender assessments.

4. Provide client agencies with access to reports and information as required.

5. Continuously monitor workflows to ensure that Service Statement expectations are being achieved.

Selection criteria


1. Good working knowledge of procurement policy and legislation with demonstrated experience in end to end

procurement and contract management processes including the ability to prepare all associated documentation to a

high standard.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with a diverse range of


3. Demonstrated commitment to high personal work standards in the delivery of client focussed services.

4. Demonstrated high level organisation skills and a proven record of achieving results within agreed timeframes.

5. High level of computer literacy with experience in using the Microsoft Office suite of products, Content Manager

and Agencies Purchase Requisitions Online or equivalents.

6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest,

innovative and respectful.


1. Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or equivalent qualification.

2. Current NT Driver’s licence or the ability to obtain.
