Role Responsibilities
ASIO is looking to fill various Finance, Administration and Business Support positions at the AE6 (APS6) level to operate as Corporate Resource Managers across the Organisation.

As a Corporate Resource Manager, you will be a logical thinker, self-motivated and a quick learner. You will have a positive attitude and willingness to contribute as a team member while being a key contact across the Organisation providing advice to Divisions on budget, financial and corporate information.

Your duties will include:
  • Providing advice and guidance on; position management, travel, purchase orders, reconciliation of invoices and credit cards;
  • Ensuring end of month activities including accruals and journal entries are processed within required timeframes;
  • Coordinating and providing assistance with Divisional monthly budget variance reporting;
  • Reviewing travel coding and movement requisitions within the travel database;
  • Assisting with management of assets including stock-take, annual asset activities;
  • Where relevant, providing vehicle management support; and
  • Contributing to business improvement processes and development of standard operating procedures.
Note: Candidates applying for AE6 (APS6) level will be required to lead and manage small teams in addition to the above duties.

Key attributes
The preferred candidates will possess the following attributes:
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills, including strong written skills;
  • Proficient with MS Office and the ability to adapt to and utilise a range of IT and finance systems and packages;
  • Attention to detail in the processing of high volume and complex transactions;
  • Ability to manage competing workloads whilst producing high quality outcomes within timeframes; and
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise; using initiative, judgement and integrity.
Formal qualifications and experience in Finance and/or Business Administration is not necessary, although is highly desirable. Relevant training will be provided to successful candidates.

  • An Australian citizen.
  • Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a Positive Vetting security clearance.

Employment conditions
Employment is under the ASIO Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
