JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to support the Portfolio Services Manager to develop, implement and maintain the EPMO Project Management Framework, methodology, systems and tools. The services provided by the Senior Analyst Portfolio Services ensure projects are mobilised and implemented in an effective and efficient way to increase the likelihood of project success.

Key Accountabilities

You will conduct project reviews and evaluate, analyse, recommend and implement process improvements to the project management framework, including methods and toolsets. More specifically the Senior Analyst will:

  • Create and maintain a schedule of gate reviews and conduct formal project gate reviews and ad hoc project health checks ensuring suggested improvements are implemented.
  • Conduct post implementation project reviews. Ensure lessons learned are captured at a project and an enterprise level, reviewed to understand trends and fed back into the framework to be used by future projects.
  • Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement through knowledge gained through lessons learned, our satellite PMOs and the Project Management Community of Practice.

About you

You have significant experience operating in a similar Portfolio Management Office or Program Management Office with project management experience and strong analytical, reporting and controls focus.

More specifically you have:

  • Confident and clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals across all levels
  • Proven business and financial management skills including budgeting, planning, risk management, project governance and methodology, business cases, benefit realisation, project monitoring and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Visio and Excel
  • Experience in the use of PPM tools

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management and postgraduate study (desirable)
