About who we support

Vision Australia provides services to more than 25,500 people clients from 35 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

About the role

• Provide design advice and consulting services to our clients on how to make their products and services accessible to people with disabilities.
• Develop roadmaps and strategies for clients to raise awareness and develop their own capabilities in making their products and services accessible to people with disabilities.
• Conduct usability testing with people with disabilities using a wide range of technologies including websites, apps, payment terminals, and kiosks.
• Facilitate our Inclusive Design public and in-house training course virtually and in-person.
• Conduct design reviews against WCAG 2.1 and our own internal evidence-based recommendations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in design, information technology or related field.
• At least 2 years' experience working as a user experience designer, UI designer or similar in an agency setting or in-house.
• Expert knowledge of usability principles, methodologies, and processes.
• Experience facilitating usability testing sessions and reporting findings.
• Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and native apps.
