Newly created position for a diligent professional to join Australia's newest iron ore producer during the early stages of operations

Nathan River Resources is an Australian iron ore producer.

The Roper Bar Iron Ore Project is located 50 km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory. Nathan River has consolidated the entire ‘pit-to-port’ logistics chain, including open pit mines and infrastructure, private haul road, ship loading facilities and transhipping marine vessels. Iron ore mining and export operations commenced in Q4 2020.


This is a fantastic, newly created position for a diligent professional to join Australia’s newest iron ore producer during the early stages of operations and support the project through future financial and operation projects.

Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Assistant provides dependable and efficient support to the CEO and broader executive team and takes responsibility for the operational effectiveness of the Perth office. This is a diverse role that relies on the maturity of the incumbent to work independently and adapt to the inherent uncertainties in a startup resources environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide executive support to the CEO including diary management, fielding telephone calls and email responses, general correspondence, maintenance of the daily schedule
  • Prepare documentation for Board and other meetings, including document collation & distribution, venue coordination, catering and audio-visual equipment and minutes
  • Coordinate events such as conference attendance, corporate events, strategy meetings/dinners as and when required.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations, handouts and company profile/factsheets for corporate promotion, investor roadshows and conferences
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, contracts, agreements and reports.
  • Arrange meetings with investors, brokers and media and act in a liaison capacity.
  • Arrange (& attend) site visits for VIP’s/Executive’s, chartering aircraft and manage associated logistics and catering.
  • Oversee travel arrangements for the Executive Team
  • Complete expense claims & credit card reconciliations for CEO
  • Manage website and intranet development including updates & distribution of corporate news using website integrated marketing platforms
  • Support the transition into a new office environment
  • Organise and coordinate the Perth office operations and procedures
  • Be the primary point of contact for all visitors and incoming calls
  • Develop and implement corporate procedures and office workflow systems
  • Perform adhoc administrative tasks as required


We are seeking an accomplished Executive Assistant with the proven track record of achieving outstanding results in a dynamic work environment. You will demonstrate strong initiative and your calm manner and resilience will support your ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the resource industry
  • Outstanding verbal, written and organisational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A positive, friendly and professional manner

This is a permanent position based at NRR’s Perth office.
