Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel Australia and New Zealand are seeking an Assistant Product Manager to join the Marketing team, taking ownership to build the product range for the Dolls Portfolio. The portfolio drives excitement in the playground for brands such as the toy categories number 1 brand, Barbie, plus Polly Pocket, and other licensed brands.

The role focuses on 0 – 18 month timeline on range architecture, volumes, pricing for year ahead, and sku management in both Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated love of using insights to find answers, and be excited to join a purpose driven, fun (we sell toys!) and fast paced organisation where speed and agility are key.

This is a full-time role on an initial fixed term agreement for 9 months, with a view to go permanent.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Building the product range based on deep understanding of category, shopper and consumer needs, existing product performance, brand strategies and retailer direction.
  • Providing analysis and interpretation of category, shopper and consumer research that supports your recommendations on pricing, promotions, product margin and competition.
  • Leading the SKU management for the Dolls portfolio including but not limited too; excess inventory, consumption modelling and lifecycle management
  • Consultation with internal stakeholders (Sales, Planning, Customer Marketing and Finance) when building the range to ensure recommendations are aligned with profitability targets, consumer & competitor trends and sales strategies.
  • Leading portfolio discussions in monthly sales review meetings. Own the brands, monitoring SKU performance, sell through rates, future forecast rates and possible obstacles that may appear.
  • Partner with Brand Manager and Marketing Manager to demonstrate best practise, embodying the WONDER values in all you do.
