Position: Metallurgy Laboratory Supervisor

Work Location: Newman

Roster: FIFO Ex Perth 8D6R

Reporting to the Metallurgy Laboratory Superintendent, an opportunity currently exists for a Metallurgy Laboratory Supervisor to join the team.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Manage daily work and provide supervision to all Metallurgical and Maintenance Technician employees and contractors under your control
  • Ensure team members work to laboratory procedures and tasks are completed in a safe, accurate and efficient manner
  • Participate in activities to continuously improve the way things are done at the Newman lab
  • Demonstrate personal leadership through conducting Field Leadership Interactions, Planned Task Observations and mentoring of technicians
  • Maintain a high level of commitment to safety
  • Establish and maintain development plans for employees
  • Complete Daily Reports detailing the previous day’s production
  • Organise and chair weekly meetings to establish job priorities

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience gained in a similar or same role
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology desirable
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire and drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia
  • Class C manual WA driver’s license.
