Position summary
Downer Rollingstock Services (RSS) is committed to providing the highest quality of Rollingstock & Overhaul services for both the local Queensland and wider Australian markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our team on the Fraser Coast in Maryborough, QLD
About the role:
In 2019, Downer was awarded the $85 million AVP contract to deliver accessibility upgrades to a fleet of 75 trains. The works include larger toilet units and improved accessibility features for people with disabilities. At the height of the project, eight trains will be upgraded simultaneously. Modification of this fleet is scheduled to continue through to 2024.
The Contract Manager will provide management of commercial activities within the AVP Project, reporting to the QLD Commercial Manager. Providing summaries, reports and updates to the RSS Leadership and Executive teams, as required.
Role requirements:
Contractual negotiations with project client and subcontractors
Ownership of Contract Manual
Maintenance of commercial registers
Assessing impact of events including pricing variations
Management of delay impacts
Liaising with relevant internal stakeholders including our legal and project controls
Managing contract variation claims, extensions of time and design change impacts
Championing the change management processes and tools
Issuing contract notices and variations
Interface with all project functional leads
Work unsupervised within a team environment.
A commitment to upholding a ZERO Harm environment
Specific desired skills and experience:
Rollingstock experience - preferred.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or Project Management
Project Management within a construction, services or manufacturing environment
Commercial/contractual management
Additional commercial or legal training; preferred
Excellent contract management skills
Member of a relevant professional body
