An opportunity to be part of our Dandenong Hospital Sterilising Services team

Monash Health Emergency Departments treat over 150,000 emergency patients a year at Monash Medical Centre Clayton campus, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. Patients have access to a full range of treatment options, including intensive care.
About the role
Instrument technicians are an integral part of the Monash Health. Providing support to the surgical staff to ensure positive patient outcomes are achieved via appropriately sterilised surgical instrumentation.
The position depending on the level of competency and skill set is responsible for:
- ? Cleaning, decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instrumentation in alignment with AS 4187:2014 guidelines
- ? Transportation of surgical instrumentation to and from Operating Suite
- Check In/Out of loan instruments and Implants
- Working to the highest standards either under supervision or autonomously
- ? Ensuring all equipment is functioning and correctly maintained
- ? Cleaning of equipment including flexible endoscope in accordance with Monash Health guidelines
- ? Providing efficient, safe and professional services to all stakeholders in a patient focused environment through effective and committed teamwork.
About you
As the SSU instrument technician your responsibilities is to efficiently receive, decontaminate, assemble, sterilise and package reusable medical devices at the highest standard working autonomously or under the supervision of a grade 5 instrument technician or manager. In addition, transporting of instruments throughout the hospital.
- We are keen to bring on board a quick learner who shares our determination to carry out quality work and provide first class service and support.
- You hold a Certificate III and/or IV in Sterilisation Services
- Proven substantial experience in a hospital setting at least 12 months.
Being flexible comes naturally to you and you quickly adapt when priorities and routines change. You are well capable of working independently or in a team and communicate effectively.
