Consultant Interventional Radiologist

Applications for suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position Consultant Interventional Radiologist within Imaging at Monash Health. Applicants must hold RANZCR Fellowship and EBIR certification would be desirable. The position is offered on a full time permanent basis (40 hrs/wk; 4 weekdays), however Interventional Radiologists seeking part time hours will also be considered.

About the Department

Imaging at Monash Health incorporates a full range of services including CT, US, MRI, DEXA, PET, Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, Lithotripsy, OPG, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and Interventional and Therapeutic imaging services at the Monash Medical Centre - Clayton; Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton; Dandenong Hospital, Dandenong; Casey Hospital, Berwick; Moorabbin Hospital, Bentleigh East, Kingston Centre, Cheltenham and the Pakenham Health Centre, Pakenham. Imaging also supports the Monash University Biomedical Imaging site including MRI and PET MRI. The service provides over 365,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites, currently employs approximately 500 EFT and has a gross operating budget in excess of $100M.

The Imaging program clearly defines its mission as the delivery of leading edge, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services and research and education that meets the needs of our community and employees. Our proposed vision is to relentlessly pursue excellence and be a beacon within imaging and be the prime provider and destination of choice for our community, referrers, researchers, educational institutions, employees and students.
We are now looking to appoint to Consultant Interventional Radiologist

About the Role

The Consultant Interventional Radiologist will:
· Assist the Unit Head of Interventional Radiology to provide a high quality interventional service across all Monash Health, Imaging sites.
· Contribute to Imaging's diagnostic radiology service, consulting in at least one diagnostic sub-specialty.
· Provide a supportive learning environment for Monash Imaging registrars/fellows.
· Support research & education initiatives within Monash Health.
· Participate in an interventional radiology on-call roster.

What you need:
· Registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate.
· Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.
· Sub-specialty training in Interventional Radiology
· Radiation Use Licence

· Certification through the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR)
· Academic portfolio

All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice by the Monash Health Credentialing committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoP within the clinical services capability framework in the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to offer of employment.

Appointment to these position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
