Corin is looking for an experienced, motivated and innovative Data Engineer to join the Technology division of our growing team. This is a full-time, ongoing position and will report into our US based Global Innovation team but will ideally be based out of our Sydney office located in Pymble, close to public transport. This position will assist the Global Innovation team to expand and improve current databases, process clinical data and develop machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to solve complex multi-variable and multi-variate problems.

As a Data Engineer you will work with our team of dedicated scientists and engineers to help develop the CorinRegistry, a worldwide digital health data registry that aims to model pre, intra, and post-operative factors and develop machine learning (ML) algorithms to improve patient care. You will focus on improving internal processes, robotic and computer-aided surgical technologies, and ultimately patient outcomes. You will
- Audit, clean and transform datasets to meet clinical and quality requirements
- Create scripts to automate processes and to process data and/or imaging corresponding to business goals
- Read / segment / label medical images (CT, x-ray) as required
- Explore ML algorithms on pilot datasets and transform and assemble training datasets
- Build and analyze datasets from the CorinRegistry using query languages
- Data process verification & validation, protocol development, testing and reporting
- Apply 3D rigid body transformations to spatial data
- Work with diverse datasets including DICOM, 3D joint morphologies (STL models) and kinematics (homogeneous transforms), and clinical outcome data (clinical and patient reported outcome measures)
- Participate in the design of clinical studies and statistical analysis of data
- Create data visualizations for reports and presentations
On Your First Day, We'll Expect You to Have
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Engineering, Data or Computer Science or similar
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar or relative role
- prior experience automating processes using custom scripts and working with object-oriented/object function scripting languages
- Experience with image processing and manipulation software
- Experience with programming environments for data manipulation and graphing, such as R, Python, SPSS, Matlab, or similar
- Exposure to Machine Learning principles and related math theory
- Modelling and statistical analysis, multivariate statistics, regression analysis, analysis of variance
- Experience with Azure web environments, Databricks, Data Lakes
- Experience with computer vision and auto-segmentation algorithms such as image classification, object detection
- Good working SQL knowledge and experience with query authoring and working with relational and nonrelational (NoSQL) databases
- Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820
- Experience with Azure web environments, Databricks, Data Lakes
- Experience with computer vision and auto-segmentation algorithms such as image classification, object detection
- Good working SQL knowledge and experience with query authoring and working with relational and nonrelational (NoSQL) databases
- Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820
