The Role

  • Underwrite a wide variety of risks; Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice, Directors and Officers, Associations Liability and Management Liability
  • Use your marketing & sales skills to develop long term sustainable relationships with brokers and build your profile and career

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers Liability and Management Liability Insurance
  • Develop and build broker relationship
  • Ensure excellent services standards including quality of underwriting and timely response which meet or exceed company standards.
  • Continually seek ways to improve organisational efficiency, effectiveness and profitability
  • Participate in relevant professional organisations as a representative of the company
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management team
  • In conjunction with the State Manager, ensure that budget goals are met in terms of revenue and expenses
  • In conjunction with the State Manager, participate in goal setting, planning and executive decision-making

The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 3 years of Insurance industry experience in underwriting and / or broking.
  • Good knowledge of Financial Lines & Professional Indemnity underwriting
  • Moderate knowledge of Management Liability, Associations Liability, Medical Malpractice and Public / Products Liability
  • Experience in marketing and general broker development
  • Risk aware but not adverse
  • Optimistic and reasonable approach to problem solving
  • Action Oriented – Self-starter and readily takes on challenges; high focused, enthusiastic and creative thinker.
  • Demonstrable ability to market to and develop relationships with brokersAbility to negotiate and/or approve insurance quotations
  • Good Excel, Word, Outlook capabilities
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications highly regarded
