The Opportunity
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join the Parts Department based at our Welshpool Branch. Reporting to the Distribution Centre Warehouse Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to coordinate the tasks assigned to the team and provide regular feedback on the progress of all tasks.
The Role
Whilst providing support to the Parts logistics business, the Warehouse Team Leader will also engage with the Distribution Centre team and assist with daily activities to ensure performance in accordance to Komatsu’s procedures to meet all operational requirements.
Other responsibilities include:
- Achieve maximum quality while meeting 100% of process accuracy, efficiency and productivity.
- To meet required KPI times for Inbound, Outbound and Inventory related activities.
- Ensure appropriate record keeping is adhered to for receiving and dispatching goods to third party companies including Komatsu’s logistic provider.
- Engage in effective communication at all levels regarding scheduling of workload balance, safety, performance management, and provide continual support.
- Provide flexibility and solution-orientated actions to achieve daily operational needs.
- Willingness to take on additional duties as required.
- Offer suggestions to support continual improvement.
- Advocate for K-way activities and drive a positive safety culture by way of personal example and awareness activities.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- Demonstrated experience and skillset as a Warehouse Operator and/or Warehouse Inventory/Dispatch leader.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Inventory Control and Stock Management & Warehouse practices & methods with the ability to move to best practices i.e. Lead Warehousing, K-WAY.
- Refined leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years prior Supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in transacting using bar code scanners.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate, and establish rapport quickly with internal customers and external stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office products (One View, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with previous SAP experience.
- Self-starter, energetic and proactive.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while setting priorities.
- Current Drivers' License.
