Digital Health and Informatics Officer (Pharmacist)

HPS is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced pharmacist for an exciting role – Digital Health and Informatics Officer.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the National Manager – Professional Services, this role will function as a subject matter expert for pharmacy informatics and digital health systems, and proactively lead IT projects aimed at enhancing business performance and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day pharmacy informatics system activities.
  • Delivering business performance improvements through information management and automation.
  • Develop, test, implement and maintain systems-based solutions for business processes.
  • Provide a high level of support to pharmacy operations, corporate and inventory management teams.

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy and AHPRA registration (essential)
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel (essential)
  • Thorough understanding of relevant pharmacy legislation (essential)
  • Highly developed persuasive interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision (essential)
  • Solid knowledge of pharmacy and hospital operations (essential)
  • Excellent analytical thinking capability and the ability to prioritise based on business drivers. (essential)
  • Proven ability to facilitate and manage change (essential)
  • Previous experience in a data management and systems/applications orientated role (desirable)
  • Qualification in Health Informatics (desirable)
  • Experience in the strategic planning, implementation, policy & program development of pharmacy informatics and automation systems (desirable)
  • Knowledge of HPS’ pharmacy information systems (e.g. iPharmacy, ARPOS, MACI, Clinpod) (desirable)
