The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) is currently seeking candidates for a Paralegal Talent Pool. We are looking to create a talent pool for ongoing and temporary roles that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months, as we anticipate a period of extensive growth across the department. With numerous exciting projects being managed across the legal team, we are looking for passionate individuals to support our Lawyers on some of the Department’s most high-profile cases. Paralegals are rotated across the teams in Legal Services to gain a broad range of experience including litigation, planning, housing, native title and environment.
As part of the Practice Management team, you will be responsible for the research and analysis of legal issues as requested by the Legal team to support distribution and provision of legal advice and support. You will actively contribute to effective administrative support including document management, case planning and management.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
Provide effective legal and administrative support to the Legal division so that legal work is supported by necessary background information and assistance and the division operates efficiently.
Research and analyse legal issues as requested by the Legal division staff to support innovative approaches to the provision of legal advice
Be ethical and professional, and uphold and promote the public sector values
Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience
