We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chef.

The Hub House Diner is a fast-casual eatery located in Dulwich Hill, Sydney. The “Hub” is a family-friendly environment with a diverse menu featuring a range of American-inspired Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner options.

The Hub House Diner was established in 2013 and is an institution in the inner-west.

The Role:

Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the kitchen's food preparation requirements including ordering, stock control, and food preparation;
  • Ensuring timely, high-quality preparation for services;
  • Menu Planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget.
  • Rotating stock, ordering and maintaining food stock, food portion control, waste management, and stock purchase (receipt and storage)
  • Able to handle equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools effectively and as per requirements.
  • Work to set guidelines and ensure food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation are always maintained to a high standard
  • Supervising and training new staff members as required.
  • Understanding application of food safety and HACCP systems and supervise and assist with clean up after service.
  • Adhering to the guidelines of the restaurant's food safety program
  • Communicating effectively with and supporting other kitchen team members and restaurant staff.


The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Passionate about cooking exceptional food;
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a chef’s position;
  • A Safety-first approach is essential.

Job Type: Full Time, permanent

Salary: AUD 55,000 - AUD 60,000 per year plus superannuation
