Public sector client looking to engage an experienced Environmental Health Officer on a contract basis.

Your new company
The client is a public sector organization with offices based in Brisbane's South. They are looking to engage an experienced Environmental Health Officer to assist in the delivery of a range of regulatory environmental health services across the wider community.

Your new role
Your role will be to maintain and improve community health and environment standards. This will include assessment and monitoring of environmental health throughout the community. You will assist in the planning and delivery of team improvement projects. You will develop and deliver relevant educational programs, delivering specialist advise to the wider community. Provision of a high standard of customer service is paramount while representing the organization. You will also contribute to the development and review of operational procedures, guidelines and policies surrounding environmental health protection and education. You will also support the training and development of new recruits.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will most likely have demonstrated experience applying legislation across the environmental health field, along with awareness of current and emerging environmental issues. You will have organizational and project management skills, and a track record in achieving KPI's. High level communication skills will be key as you will need to effectively liaise with a diverse range of clients, along with negotiation and mediation skills. You will need well developed analytical and research skills to effectively assess technical reports and legislation. You will most likely have a university qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia or equivalent, in order to be qualified as an Environmental Health Officer. You will need a current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.

What you'll get in return
The client is offering a challenging and rewarding full-time contract position in Brisbane's South. They are offering an immediate start with the contract running through to late June 2021. There is potential for contract extension in line with ongoing needs. We would suggest an hourly rate of around $30-40 plus super, with some flexibility for particularly well-suited candidates.
