An exciting opportunity to join South Eastern Sydney Local Health District!
The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) are now recruiting to Enrolled Nurse positions for COVID-19 Screening at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport. These positions are temporary until 30 June 2021 with the possibility of extension.

Your new role:

The COVID-19 Airport Screening is a nurse lead multidisciplinary partnership that undertakes COVID-19 screening and assessment of departing and returning passengers, pilots, crew and others as determined by screening requirements. 

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) delivers high quality assessments, education and support to clients presenting for COVID-19 screening at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport consistent with SESLHD policies, procedures and standards. The location within the Airport in which screening is undertaken varies pending allocation of flights including freight. Screening may be required to be completed within the Terminal building, on the tarmac and/or within planes in accordance with required Work, Health and Safety procedures and Kingsford Smith International Airport policy.

Our Local Health District:

SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district to the Royal National Park. We proudly deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Kogarah, Hurstville and Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe and Norfolk islands.
We manage nine hospitals including:

  • Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Services (Randwick)
  • Royal Hospital for Women (Randwick)
  • Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital (Macquarie Street)
  • Uniting War Memorial (Waverley)
  • St George Hospital and Community Health Services (Kogarah)
  • Calvary Health Care (Kogarah)
  • Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Services (Caringbah)
  • Garrawarra Centre (Waterfall)
  • Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital (Lord Howe Island).

We are also responsible for the management of a number of COVID-19 Screening Clinics across SESLHD, including at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport.

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  2. Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders
  4. Supports working in a person centred environment
  5. Current professional practice knowledge base
  6. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
  7. Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
  8. Demonstrated post registration experience in an acute care setting.
