Technical Support & Testing Administrator, Online Marking and Testing Support

NSW Education Standards Authority (‘NESA’) was formally established on 1 January 2017 to improve quality teaching and student learning across all schools and school sectors. It is responsible for the curriculum, assessment, teacher accreditation and regulatory standards in NSW schools, and accreditation of early childhood teachers.

We are looking for a Technical Support & Testing Administrator, Online Marking and Testing Support to be responsible for developing automation test suites and providing testing and technical support to online testing and marking systems.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your immediate proficiency in the focus capabilities as highlighted in the Role Description. All the capabilities listed in the role description will be assessed at different stages of the recruitment process.

You must also possess the following essential requirements

  • Experience in testing as per predefined test plans.
  • Experience in technical support of online marking and testing systems.
  • Experience in developing automation test suites using well known automation tools.
  • Understanding of non-functional software testing.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science or relevant industry recognized certification
  • NSW, working with children check required.

Q1: Tell us about a situation where you were in discussion with a customer over a technical issue, but you were confused and unsure how to resolve it. What steps will you take to resolve this issue?

Q2: Describe a situation where you were testing an application release, and just before sign-off you found a critical defect in the system. What steps would you take to handle this situation, given all stakeholders were expecting testing sign-off?
