The Opportunity & Team
The Bega Dairy & Drinks Route Transport distribution network is crucial to our logistics strategy. As our Nightshift Route Transport Coordinator for Tasmania, and working across the nightshift, you will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing the service to our customers while demonstrating agility in the way you work, and the ability to show resilience and forward thinking, with the customer at the heart of everything you do.
You will be the point of contact for feedback and coaching to Delivery Partners, providing operational oversight, critical reporting, monitoring and information to continually improve the customer experience:


Hours will be 11.30pm to 7.30am Sunday evenings through to Friday mornings, however some flexibility may be required based on business needs.


Reporting to the Bega DC & Depot Leader Tasmania, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all Delivery Partners meet their respective chain of responsibility requirements
  • Ensure all relevant driver paperwork is accurate and available
  • Ensure all Transport Partner drivers have arrived on site at allocated dock time
  • Driver debriefs, Information gathering to ensure smooth delivery to customers
  • Deliver driver training, one-point lessons and standard operating procedures
  • Spot audits of all Transport Partner drivers onsite i.e. vehicle checks, stock temperature checks, all loaded goods checked off and accounted for
  • Liaising with Transport Partners to resolve any delivery enquiries/issues
  • Management and reporting of any safety incidents onsite into safety reporting and management systems
  • Updating of customer information i.e. delivery windows and driver instructions etc in relevant systems
  • Monitor and manage driver performance measures in consultation with Transport Partners
  • Complete standard work templates to required standard each shift, including all required checks and closure processes
  • Ensure timely reporting, information flow and shift handover to stakeholders

As the key liaison covering nightshift, you are a self-starter, can work autonomously and have the ability to effectively manage issues that arise with our providers, ensuring efficient resolutions while also meeting marketplace service objectives in terms of DIF/DOT and customer service / supplier engagement.


Ideal experience would include:

  • Previous experience within logistics/route distribution
  • Strong stakeholder skills to effectively coach internal teams and partner with our external suppliers and 3PL teams.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally to deliver greater transparency within the network and our ability to deliver products safely and sustainably.
  • Ability to negotiate win-win outcomes in a logistics operational setting
