About the role

The Metal Shop Instructor - Boilermaker/Welder will manage the production of fabricated metal goods to industry standards for the Prison and private contracts. The position is also responsible for the provision of training and productive work for prisoners in all facets of the metal goods and maintenance at the Prison.

The Metal Shop Instructor - Boilermaker/Welder will have constructive interaction with prisoners with regard to the philosophy, aims and objectives of the prison and production outputs of the work area.

Pre-Appointment Requirements:

Please note the following additional pre-appointment requirements to comply with the Prison Act and Regulations and applicable Departmental policy and procedures. A successful applicant must:

  • Possess a current 'C' class motor vehicle driver's licence, requirement for regular intrastate travel etc.
  • Boilermaker/Welder qualification: Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.
