This is a permanent part-time (0.77FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021

Nulsen Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an energetic and motivated Cleaner In Charge to join their team.

The successful applicant will be expected to manage and lead a small but cohesive cleaning team and perform all aspects of the Cleaner In Charge role, in order to maintain excellent standards of cleanliness in the school. Ideally, you will have excellent cleaning skills and possess qualities, such as integrity, honesty, reliability and flexibility. As our Cleaner In Charge, you will also have good communication and people skills. We require someone who will go above and beyond in the role when necessary, with a view to upholding the school’s vision and values.

To be successful in this position, you will be able to organise and supervise staff. You will have sound knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices. The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and team motivational skills and be happy to receive and carry out instructions as required. It would be highly desirable for you to be well organised and have good record keeping skills.

Nulsen Primary School is an Independent Public School that caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 students. Nulsen PS was established in 1972 and is a Level 4 Government school located in Esperance. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement;
  • complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable;
  • complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
