Lendlease’s Services business is a specialist maintenance and asset management contractor that provides services to the roads, water, telecommunications, power and industrial sectors. Services is responsible for creating, operating and maintaining public and private infrastructure which services millions of people every day and keeps communities connected and running.

We are pleased to be partnering with SA Water to improve the delivery of essential water services to customers. To achieve outcomes Lendlease is building a 24/7 rapid response Metropolitan Field Services workforce, where together with SA Water we will deliver trusted water services to the community for their needs now and into the future.

Located at Happy Valley (South ) we have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to provide leadership and direction to positively impact the performance of the contract service delivery outcomes. The Operations Manager will take responsibility for network operational performance including the delivery of 24/7 reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance services and the identification of continual improvement initiatives and innovations, which will be implemented under a collaborative approach with SA Water.

What you will do

Working collaboratively with your broader service delivery team, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the highest standards in OHS compliance, operational efficiency and effectiveness, and excellence in customer service for our client, SA Water.

A major focus of the role will be to provide positive leadership and direction for all workplace operations to ensure all practical measures are taken to deliver best practice performance. You will actively promote and sustain the ‘one team’ culture within your team, implementing change management programs to embed this philosophy.

Other elements will include overseeing the efficient and effective provision of planned and reactive maintenance, the implementation of continuous improvement projects as well as the preparation of written reports and correspondence for both SA Water and internal Lendlease senior leadership.

In addition, you will be responsible for the management of internal and external operational costs and ensuring that the key performance indicators are achieved or exceeded.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary or similar qualification in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical) or related discipline
  • 5 plus years leadership experience in the water industry or similar underground utility / civil infrastructure work with exposure to commercial and contractual frameworks
  • A demonstratable track record in developing risk profiles and the implementation of risk management strategies
  • Proven track record of fostering strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior management, staff, client representatives, regulatory bodies and customers and wider community
  • Proven track record in problem solving in stressful and tense situations
  • High level interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word/Excel/Outlook) and applications such as BI, Tableau
  • A current driver’s license
