The Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation was established in 1989, to ensure that mums, children and their families have access to the very best in medical care, facilities and support services at a time when they need it most.

Part of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the finance and information technology functions while leading a small team to provide effective financial management expertise across compliance, budgeting, reporting, financial planning and transaction processing for the Foundation.

A strong focus will be on adding value to the analysis of financial and non-financial organisational performance measures and mentoring the organisations fundraisers with respect to budget management of their areas.

Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Manage and value add to business planning, budgeting and forecasting and performance measurement;
  • Providing accounting expertise, analysis and advice to a range of commercial projects;
  • Long term strategic financial planning;
  • Preparation of Month End and Year End Financial Reports;
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records ;
  • Manage Non-Current Investments;
  • Maintain oversight of WCHF taxation matters including GST, FBT and BAS;
  • Lead the development and improvement of financial systems and processes to improve the effectiveness of the finance function;
  • Lead and manage the outsourced IT function;
  • Manage the Insurance portfolio;
  • Act as finance business partner to internal stakeholders and external bodies;
  • The development and refining of accounting policies, processes and controls.

As an integral member of the leadership group, you will work closely with our high calibre Finance, Risk and Audit Committee and participate in bi-monthly Board Meetings..

CA/CPA qualified with appropriate accounting and management experience, you will demonstrate a 'hands-on' approach to your work, be self-motivated, and a proactive professional with high-level communication skills. You will also possess the drive, energy and initiative required in such a role with a focus on providing timely, high quality trusted advice and support.
