ProCare Australia is currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to fill casual shifts for clients in the Toowoomba area. This work will be supporting adults living with a physical or intellectual disability or mental health illness.

You will work alongside people who have varying support needs including physical, intellectual or a dual diagnosis to ensure they are able to maintain quality of life and achieve their personal goals and aspirations both at home and within their local community.

About You

• You are passionate about helping others, have an demonstrated ability to problem solve and can think on your feet
• You have demonstrated paid experience supporting youth and adults with a disability with a range of complex support needs including behavioural management support
• You must be able to undertake manual handling and other physical activities as required
• You will be willing and available to undertake shift work and provide quality service delivery to clients
• Must have experience administering medication and supporting clients who require personal care.
• Experience in Catheter Care is desirable but not essential.

To be successful you must have

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Disability Services or equivalent.
• A Current Yellow Card 
• Demonstrated experience supporting people with moderate to high complex support needs including behavioural management support.
• Sound written and communication skills
• Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain.
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain
• Disability Support Workers are required to use their own vehicle and therefore must have access to a reliable car, a driver license and comprehensive car insurance (kilometric allowance paid for client transportation)
• Must have good availability for day, evening and weekend shifts and sleepover shifts

Salary and Benefits

Hourly rate is paid at $35 - $43.78 per hour plus penalty rates for after hours, weekends and sleepover shifts plus super.
