Your new role
NAB is seeking a Sanctions Analyst to assist the team with monitoring risk across a range of countries and industries. Within this role you will review possible fraudulent activity through an internal system which is broken into low, medium and high risk. Your main responsibilities will include analysing any true risks posed to NAB and issuing an alert along with:

  • Manually reviewing and process SWIFT messages caught in the sanctions filter to ensure no potential sanctions breaches.
  • Investigate and escalate any possible hits.
  • Ensure adherence to existing standard operating procedures during designated shifts to protect against possible sanctions breaches;
  • Identify risk factors affecting customers and the business,
  • To ensure the highest level of compliance with the relative acts which are attributable to this process

The team operates between 7am and 9pm, with an hourly rate of $32.03 + super. This is a temporary ongoing assignment for 12 months

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have previous sanctions experience and a genuine passion for financial crime! Quality and accuracy is extremely important and must be met at all times to succeed in this role. Furthermore:

  • An understanding of SWIFT and knowledge of all aspects of International Payments including trade related payments.
  • Any Trade finance related experience will be considered, import/export, letters of credit knowledge
  • Necessary skills to assess information within a SWIFT message and relate it to the likely match against the sanctions filter.
  • Understanding of AML sanction policies
  • Customer centric focus
  • Risk based approach and focus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Due to the ongoing nature of this position, we require all candidates to have full working rights in Australia, along with full availability between 7am and 9pm as rosters may rotate between these times Mon to Fri.
