Manage and support the regional delivery of cultural protection projects, to help shape and success and future of our parks!
- Play an integral role to support successful initiatives through resource planning and financial budgeting
- Manage and deliver high-quality projects including the Malleefowl Protection Program
- Fixed term, part time role until June 2023 (0.5 FTE) located in Wail
About the branch
The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's state-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.
Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.
About the role and your responsibilities:
As the Project Officer, you will prepare project briefs, minor services agreements & coordinate the engagement of contractors and staff for monitoring and control of programs. You will manage and coordinate monitoring and control programs as well as prepare documentation approval requirements including the use of 1080 approval, neighbour notifications and public notices related to the program as required.
You will also assist the Ranger Team Leader in the development of a work plan for the Malleefowl Protection program. You will prepare documentation including project brief and engagement of contractor sand liaise and work with local community groups and stakeholders as required. In this role, you will also assist with project reporting and service agreement requirements
To be successful for this role you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving.
- Previous stakeholder management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and contract management.
- A current Employee Working with Children check
