JOB DESCRIPTION

THE POSITION 

The position reports to the Mine Registered Manager and plays an instrumental part of the operation leadership team while also being pivotal to the ongoing development and monitoring of long-term maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity. You must be able to demonstrate a real commitment towards safety, have sound communication and organisational skills, have high attention to detail and a desire to continuously improve operations.

THE DUTIES

  • Ongoing development, promotion and monitoring of long-term preventative maintenance and reliability measures and strategies to ensure asset integrity.
  • Project Management of projects of various disciplines from feasibility stage to construction, commissioning, and close-out stage.
  • Development of technical specifications for competitive tendering of remediation, upgrade works and acquisition of new equipment.
  • Major maintenance and project management including occasional supervision.
  • Coordination and planning of Major Maintenance Programs and site shutdown activities based on long-term perspectives as well as middle-short term perspectives.
  • Train personnel to create robust preventive and systematic maintenance systems across the site.
  • Participate in the development of annual capital program and budget, prepare applications, and manage costs with approved amounts.
  • Work closely with the Production personnel to allow effective preventative maintenance programs to be carried out in a timely manner.
  • Focus on continuous improvement across the Shark Bay Resources operations.
  • Actively promote and contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance improvement ideas and plans.
  • Monitor the impact of equipment maintenance and design on salt production and quality, and recommend action as required.
  • Manage site engineering documents (including technical standards and site drawings)
  • Provide support, advice and assistance to other departments as required.
  • Endorse and support Shark Bay Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Interpret and apply relevant statutory and regulatory legislation.
  • Actively contribute to the organization to product quality salt, minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role our minimum requirements are:

  • Tertiary Engineering qualification (Preference to Mechanical or Structural).
  • Certificate IV in Project Management (as a minimum) with a Diploma being advantageous.
  • Proven experience in project management, budget preparations, asset management and life cycle planning.
  • Formal training in reliability is highly desirable.
