The Role

We are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer with experience in the automotive electrical industry. Specialising in a wide range of warning lighting, automotive mirrors and electrical products, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing of new products in addition to providing mechanical engineering support to existing product lines. 

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Conceptualise, design, build, test and evaluate digital and analogue circuits/subassemblies to meet the performance, cost and scheduling requirements as defined by the project team and company’s goals
  • Integrate subassemblies (mechanical and electrical) into prototype units; co-ordinate continuing product development, test, system verification and validation throughout the development process and into production release
  • Resolve non-conformance issues; implement product and process improvement/cost reduction initiatives via the company's Non-Conformance/Corrective Action and Engineering Change processes
  • Ensure product compliance with ISO standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

In order to succeed in this role you will need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Practical engineering experience in a high volume manufacturing environment desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of digital and analogue circuitry (design, test, troubleshooting)
  • Extensive knowledge of micro-controller firmware design/coding (various chipsets/languages)
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures and measurement of EMC , RF, visible light and audio energy
  • Familiarity with CAD based PCB design
  • Advanced math skills (e.g. algebra and calculus) and working knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Fully versed in MS Office (intermediate to advanced skills using MS Word and Excel preferred)
  • Experience in Altium and Solidworks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; e.g. the ability to prepare, present and discuss project related plans, requirements, test results etc in a team based work environment
  • Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide workable solutions.
  • Computer proficiencies in business application software i.e., word processing, spreadsheet and database.
  • A high level of integrity, particularly when working with sensitive or restricted information
