Agency overview

Infrastructure NSW provides specialist advice to the NSW Government on infrastructure investment and prioritisation. Core functions include providing independent and strategic advice to ensure infrastructure investment decisions are underpinned by robust assessment and long term planning; monitoring NSW’s infrastructure program through independent reviews and expert analysis; recommending infrastructure projects to the NSW Treasurer for funding from the Restart NSW fund; and managing the procurement and delivery of nominated priority projects.

We embrace diversity, welcome innovation and forge lasting relationships based on a common interest in making NSW the best it can be. We’re small and nimble – and our impact is mighty!

About the role

The ICT Operations Officer provides onsite and remote support, while also managing IT service providers to deliver exceptional ICT solutions for INSW. ICT systems at INSW include Office 365, Azure, SCCM, meeting room AV, Objective ECM, networking including WiFi, and network printing.

Supporting technology in a smaller government department requires a broad technical skill set, a flexible can-do attitude and the ability to think outside the box to resolve INSW technology challenges. Please note also that this is an onsite role.

For more information please refer to the Role Description.

About you

You have significant experience working closely with service providers, support teams and employees, contractors and consultants, and have honed your communications skills (written and verbal), problem solving and ability to prioritise and manage your time, perfectly.

You would be comfortable being the face and voice of ICT in our office and happily provide services from ICT inductions through to offboarding (and everything in between). We are looking for someone with experience in similar roles in a smaller organisation who can work independently, show initiative, and demonstrate their eye for detail, customer focus and can-do attitude that delivers results.

Why work for INSW?

We believe in flexibility for all roles, and are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, and providing employees with challenging and rewarding work, opportunities for career progression, and learning and development. We offer our employees discounted gym membership, study assistance, salary packaging, and are conveniently located near Wynyard station in Sydney's newest waterfront precinct at Barangaroo.

Our commitment to diversity

We welcome and encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQI+, people with disability, people with caring responsibilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans and women. We endeavour to make all our roles flexible. While this role is advertised as full-time, we will consider requests to undertake the work flexibly.

How to apply

To apply for this position, please submit your resume and no more than a two-page cover letter which addresses an example where you :

  • Thought outside the box to solve an IT challenge. Please also outline how you did this and the result.
  • Had to communicate a complex technical problem and solution to someone who was not technical, the strategies you used and the outcome.

Applications Close 11.59pm, Wednesday 3 March 2021.

Please note that applications received via email will not be considered. Please apply using the ‘Apply now’ link below.
