WHAT WE DO
Verico Asset Integrity Services is a multi-disciplined advisory group that works closely with its customers to manage the technical and economic life of their assets. By leveraging our specialist expertise, we provide results and deliver insights that maintain and improve the integrity of high value assets, optimising performance over their life. Our solutions support a variety of business critical activities through testing, assurance, calibration, condition and compliance monitoring.
The Environmental Services team at Verico consists of environmental technicians and professional officers who work across a variety of projects which include monitoring of stack emissions, ambient air quality, noise, groundwater and surface water, dam surveillance and occupational hygiene.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the successful candidate, you will have relevant field experience in any of the above disciplines but experience in stack emissions testing and leading field teams would be highly regarded. You may also get involved in the day to day operation, maintenance, and calibration of monitoring instrumentation at sites managed by Verico.
You can expect to spend a large proportion of your time on project sites around Newcastle and the Central Coast. Occasional travel further afield (e.g. interstate) may also be required. Standard business hours are Monday to Friday but longer hours or weekend work may be required at times.
You will join a small and enthusiastic environmental monitoring team during an exciting time of growth. You will have opportunities to continue developing your technical skills whilst also being offered in-house training and on-going mentoring.
You will thrive in this role if you are a collaborative team player, have a thirst for learning, show strong attention to detail and are flexible to be able to respond quickly. You will have well developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and experience in preparing technical reports and data / spreadsheet management. Above all, dedication to providing a high level of service and support to our clients is critical.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role, your key activities will include:
- Environmental monitoring of air, noise, water, groundwater at a minimum
- Use of Microsoft office and environmental data management solutions
- Travel to sites in and around NSW and other states
- Being proactive in following HSEQ procedures
- Possibly training and mentoring less experienced employees, subject to experience
- Liaise with customers and build positive relationships
- Assist with or lead project planning and preparation
- Assist with or lead monitoring programs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Your core skillset will be field-based environmental monitoring and associated data management and reporting. You may be suited to a broader range of projects if you also have a mechanical or electronics experience.
- Qualifications in an environmental discipline
- Practical experience in aspects of environmental monitoring/science
- Project management and/or leading fields teams is desired but not essential
- Experience in stack emissions testing is desirable
- Current Australian Driver’s licence
