JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a Project Manager for a contract opportunity with a Geelong based organisation, initially WFH until a flexible work environment is resumed. The contract is initially budgeted until 30th June 2021, in line with the end of the financial year, but with the program due to run until the end of 2022, there is a strong probability of extension.


This is a brand-new role working on a growing data transformation program. You will join a high-calibre team, report to the Program Manager and play a key role providing leadership and technical expertise to implement a structured approach to ensure the effective delivery of project outputs.


The Project Manager will utilise the agreed project management framework and governance mechanisms to effectively coordinate the assigned project(s), and manage the day-to-day activities and resources of the project(s) to produce and deliver the stated objectives and benefit outcomes.


There will be a focus on schedule, budget, quality, risk and issues management, documentation, quality control and managing project dependencies.


Key accountabilities:

  • Active leadership, oversight and management of the project
  • Lead and manage the project planning and execution
  • Actively support the Program Manager in the devising and implementation of the Delivery Strategy
  • Ensure project deliverables are aligned to stakeholder expectations
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to resources to support the successful delivery of the assigned project(s), and contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance program delivery, performance and governance
  • Manage and monitor project governance including:

-Project performance

-Budget

-Schedule and critical path achievement

-Project delivery adheres to the Project Management Framework

-Risks and issues

-Quality and resourcing

-Change and communications

-KPIs and reporting

-Escalation management of key issues

-Post-delivery review and lessons learnt; and

-Provision of regular and accurate project reporting to committee/s and other stakeholders

  • Proactively identifying, managing and reporting risk and issues, including dependencies across projects, political, business impact, market impact, and technical complexity


Key Requirements:

  • Substantial career evidence of project management including proven management of projects within large and complex organisations.
  • Proven experience with Business Intelligence and Data Platform projects
  • Proven experience in successful budget responsibility for projects over $500k.
  • Extensive project lifecycle experience understanding the planning and delivery of projects in its entirety.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills with excellent attention to detail in written work.
  • High competency in scheduling & dependency mapping
  • Proven confidence in verbal communication with the successful ability to deal with people at all levels of an organisation including liaising with a wide range of diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating a human centred design approach to all aspects of work, including a willingness to share knowledge and expertise to assist in embedding this approach across the organisation.
