Continued business growth has paved the way for a passionate and dedicated Safety and facilities Advisor to join the Leadership Team. With safety at the forefront of everything we do, you will be responsible for the development, co ordination and ongoing maintenance of the Site Safety System.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Responsible for the observance of the company's human resources and safety policies (including all applicable Federal and State laws and Regulations relating to occupational health and safety).
  • Liaison with Group OH&S and other DC's OH&S to deliver and implement OHS initiatives
  • Assists to coordinate the site return to work programs with Group Workers Compensation Manager.
  • Active participant in the Group OH&S meetings.
  • Responsible for ensuring a proactive approach to Safe Work Practices on site
  • Timely completion of all Safety Checklists within jurisdiction. Submits all required Safety KPI and activity records via scheduled reporting process.
  • Implementing a formal Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis program and schedule and delivers corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Oversees and co ordinates incident investigation process.
  • Ensuring timely attention to issues identified via Safety and Environment Checklists and Audits.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate employees are trained to operate in accordance with Road Transport (CoR) Chain of Responsibility.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained appropriately for MHE use and provide general safety training on site via toolbox and formal training session when necessary.
  • Ensuring all contractors and new employees that enter the site have undertaken the appropriate site induction.
  • Attends and provides input at the regular Glendenning Leadership Team meetings
  • Inspires the team to focus on safety culture development.
  • Delivers the mantra "Safety is FIRST in EVERYTHING we do!"
  • Assists with facility maintenance.
  • Drives housekeeping standards.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will posses the following;

  • Completion of a recognised Warehousing & Distribution course or equivalent is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with facility maintenance of a similar sized operation.
  • Understanding of relevant OHS&E and HR legislation.
  • Work Cover NSW registered and trained Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator, is desirable.
  • Certificate 4 in Workplace Training & Assessment is desirable.
  • Experience in coordinating OH&S audits, and implementing new OHS requirements on site
  • Experience in the development of safety policies, incident investigations, conducting training & inductions, reporting of injuries & incidents will be highly regarded.
  • Proven excellence in KPI reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with Human Resource issues.
