What you will be doing  

The NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) supports the development of profitable primary industries that create a more prosperous NSW and contributes to a better environment through the sustainable use of natural resources.

Within NSW DPI, Agriculture (DPI Ag) leads agricultural industry development through science and research, industry policy and regulatory compliance functions to foster sustainable and economic agricultural industries.

The role is responsible for coordinating and supporting the development and implementation of industry outcomes through tailored sector-specific adoption pathways (includes a focus on digital delivery). You will ensure DPI Agriculture programs have a planned and rigorous approach to industry adoption for the range of sectors we serve. This includes providing strategic guidance and operational support for industry development, adoption and digital delivery across NSW. 

Working as a Leader Industry Adoption you will be: 

• Lead, facilitate and support staff in the planning, development, and evaluation of industry adoption programs
• Build and maintain relationships, through collaboration and negotiation with key DPI staff and stakeholders, acting as a conduit and facilitator for DPI Agriculture in industry engagement, adoption and digital delivery to capitalise on opportunities and outcomes
• Identify, implement and evaluate new approaches to industry adoption and digital delivery, by assessing industry trends and organisational processes.
• Identify potential risks, opportunities, and barriers to adoption for key projects in the DPI Agriculture R&D portfolio
• Drive and develop industry adoption strategies in partnership with stakeholder networks to grow innovation and stronger primary industries

What you need to be successful as our new Leader Industry Adoption: 

• Degree or post-graduate qualifications in Agriculture or Science based disciplines
• Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel, including to remote locations
• Ability to manage operational expenditure within delegation and budget
• Propose and develop projects and programs
