How will I help?

Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Portfolio Management, you will assist with the proactive monitoring of the portfolio and through the utilisation of various tools and techniques, will be instrumental in the Credit Risk Management strategy and decision making across all divisions of Westpac.

The Credit Risk Centre of Excellence is Responsible for credit approval, portfolio management, management of stresses and impaired transaction managed exposures, credit policy along with relevant controls and process, systems and data across all Westpac's credit portfolios. It is a 2nd line independent control function responsible for overseeing Westpac's credit risk lifecycle (origination, evaluation, approval, monitoring and problem loan management) including compliance with the Credit Risk Management Framework and Credit-related prudential standards (including APS220, 221, 112 and 113).

This role will provide the candidate with the ability to drive the design and execution of key credit risk reporting ensuring that visibility of trends and concentrations are visible throughout the business. In addition, you will also be responsible for improving processes across technology, systems and workflows to better develop portfolio risk management systems.

You will also work closely with the Head of Credit Portfolio Management to ensure that targeted reviews are met as well as, providing senior management with regular analysis to ensure a robust framework is in operation.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will have extensive credit decisioning experience to provide insightful analysis based on accurate and precise information before presenting to General Manager and Executive level stakeholders. This experience will ideally be from a banking setting and the candidate will possess a strong knowledge of banking products and services.

In addition, you will have:

  • Organisation and time management skills
  • 10+ years credit risk experience.
  • Demonstrated passion to succeed.
