This is an exciting opportunity for a delegate sales representative who is proactive, engaging and inspired to be great at what they do. You should be someone who thrives on being surrounded by like-minded, passionate people.

The role involves engaging multiple executive level stakeholders who oversee sales and marketing in medium to large size enterprises providing them with branding, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.

Utilising a consultative sales process, you will be engaging business development, sales and marketing stakeholders by exploring how you can help them and their teams gain critical face-time and influence prospective buyers via our conferences.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • A university bachelor degree and/or five years of relevant experience in lieu of qualification
  • Developing and implementing of strategies to promote Akolade's conferences to both private public sector organisations
  • Proactive and driven attitude with a strong desire to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Ability to lead source and build list of potential clients through research i.e. directories, exhibitions, association members, etc.
  • Be able to research on competitor landscape, identifying trends and market dynamics
  • Identifying customers’ needs and recommending the conferences and the correct channels
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies and setting sales targets
  • Ability to negotiate prices and close deals including contract management
  • Regular follow ups with client’s to ensure client satisfaction
  • Weekly reporting of your sales pipeline to your sales management team
  • Be open-minded, a team-player and contributor of ideas and feedback to continuously improve sales practice
  • Ability to work autonomously and thrive on the motivation of success

Essential criteria:

At least two years strong and relevant experience in delegate sales in conferences with proven ability to be customer focused and have the ability to clearly communicate value propositions and focus on new business development.
