Role;
Based on the Central Coast of NSW, you'll work intensively predominantly with Aboriginal families at crisis point, preventing unnecessary entry of children and young people into OOHC.
You'll be responsible for the delivery of a range of evidence based, trauma informed, culturally competent and responsive services. The program goals are to protect children, maintain and strengthen family bonds, stabilise crisis situation, increase the families skills and competencies, and facilitate the family's use of a variety of formal and informal helping resources.
Criteria;
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related Bachelors degree
- Relevant casework and/or clinical experience with at risk children and their families
- Minimum of 2 years experience in your field of expertise
- Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues and an ability to conduct risk and family assessments
- Experience supporting Aboriginal families in providing culturally safe and sensitive
- Immediate start available
- Current drivers licence required and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
- A successful NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Federal Police check is required prior to starting in this role
- Experience in working within a therapeutic model is highly desirable
