A rare opportunity currently exists for a suitably qualified and well-networked engineering professional to join Wagners Earth Friendly Concrete team in the role of Engineering & BD Manager. This role is based in the western suburbs of Brisbane and will report directly to the General Manager of Earth Friendly Concrete, a division of Wagners New Generation Materials business. As a hands-on Engineering and BD Professional, you will take part in leading the ongoing development and commercial supply of the world’s first zero cement, geopolymer concrete product that is proven at scale. We have branded it Earth Friendly Concrete® (EFC®).

Duties will include:

  • Ensure EFC® meets Australian and global standards and support its specification into major projects
  • Develop project and licensing opportunities for EFC®
  • Actively engage with engineering, local authority, government and contracting customers
  • Develop specification opportunities
  • Establish technical marketing content in association with the marketing team
  • Represent EFC® at strategic industry events and associations that Wagners support
  • Promote the benefits of EFC® to key stakeholders which may include authoring technical papers and attending some industry conferences
  • Understand and package testing data to suit project applications, including carbon emission-related data
  • Understand and work around Australian Standards
  • Other tasks associated with the position, as required.
Skills and Experience:
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • 10 + years’ professional experience
  • Engineering qualification, or similar
  • 3 – 4 years’ exposure to concrete construction materials highly regarded
  • Exposure to client/ customer interaction
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail and initiative.
  • Willingness to contribute as a team member
  • Good skills in problem-solving, formulating and applying solutions
  • Holds an open drivers licence
