About the Role

The aim of the position is to assist with project management along with the dissemination of results via publications and presentations and building collaborative research relationships. The incumbent will be primarily involved in a funded project looking at developing an evidence based systematic approach to reviewing the quality of dying experience for patients with advanced cancer.

It is essential to have highly developed interpersonal, time management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and with a broader team.

Classifications for this position will be dependent on the qualifications of the incumbent (HS2 - HS8).


  • Project management of pertinent research project(s), including recruitment, data management and data analysis.
  • To assist in the writing of project reports and manuscripts
  • Presentation of findings at conferences and preparation of articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Input into grant writing where pertinent
  • Foster collaborations with key stakeholders
  • Undertaking research in accordance with the project protocol and ethical requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Completion of a PhD in health or a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research
  • Expertise in the use of computing software packages and good keyboard skills
  • Highly developed organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated highly developed written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative methodology
  • Familiarity with submitting ethics applications
