The Company:

Our client, a leader in its field and one of Australia’s largest manufacturers is seeking a highly motivated BDM with excellent negotiation and communication skills to join their team in this newly created role. The business has experienced substantial growth over the last 12 months and this role would add to the continual growth of it's clients and services offered. A business that is well-known across Australia and New Zealand supporting major infrastructure projects. Well-established brand that’s operating for more than 30 years is growing from strength to strength.

The Role:

As a Technical Sales Rep you will be the point of contact between the business and clients. Your day to day would be on the road in a branded vehicle for the purpose of delivering products and technical services to customers when and where they need it most. Also including :
  • Actively sourcing and generating new business via face-face meetings, networking opportunities, generating leads and other methods
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients
  • Identifying new sales opportunities through outbound calls
  • Managing and closing out sales calls after identifying prospective clients
  • Promote and market products of the business in a professional manner
  • Continually monitoring competitor activity
  • Providing tailored solutions to clients needs
  • Price negotiation and delivery times within limits of authority
  • Working closely with sales engineers and outbound sales team
  • Prepare professional, complete concise and accurate reports, proposals, tenders and other documentation as required
  • Managing your daily workflow , client visits and reporting
The Candidate:
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in technical sales
  • Naturally a Hunter!
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM
  • Requires the ability to comprehensively understand products, services and customers needs
  • Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
  • Ability to work autonomously and displaying high levels of initiative
  • Superior communication skills as well as the ability to maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally – exceptional at building rapport
  • Building good relationships with internal teams and ability to communicate openly about orders
  • Adaptable to changing environment and clients needs on a day to day basis
  • Strong objection handling skills and experience
  • Naturally someone who builds and maintains relationships wellR
  • Results driven and self-motivated
In addition you are someone who has good listening skills , empathetic towards the needs of your clients and takes time to understand your client and their business. Your role is to provide a solution and be an extension of their business.
