About the role

Our Business Unit Coordinator provides critical high-level and confidential support to our Head of Safety and Wellbeing and Lead Team. You must have strong interpersonal skills in order to build a rapport with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a high level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities whilst delivering a high standard of work. You will work closely with the Lead Team to provide support across a wide range of areas of business administration services such as diary and travel management, events coordination, attending to ministerial correspondence and preparation of Executive and Board papers.

This is a fixed term full time position based in our Leederville office, commencing 10 March 2021 until 31 August 2021.

What the role will offer
  • Provide accurate, confidential and comprehensive high-level executive support to the Head of Safety and Wellbeing and the Lead Team.
  • Proactive management of the Head Of Business Unit’s calendar to resolve schedule conflicts in advance and build space for priority tasks and critical engagements.
  • Coordinate and effectively manage all Board, Executive and Board Sub-Committee papers and actions for the Business Unit in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide high quality service to internal and external customers while building successful relationships on behalf of the Head of Business Unit.
  • Liaise and coordinate information with external and internal stakeholders and committees as required. You will work closely with the Executive Assistant of People & Safety Group.
  • Coordinate all requests from Cabinet, Parliament and the Ministers office for Safety and Wellbeing and ensure a response is provided within the required timeframe.
Key skills and experience
  • Substantial support and administrative experience in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and high attention to detail.
  • A pro-active mindset with the skill of working well under pressure with conflicting priorities.
  • Competent in the use of relevant IT applications.
  • Hold safety as a core value and maintain a safe working environment.
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to remain calm and focussed in high pressure situations.
